What are the benefits of subscribing to Solvd?

Our subscription service is convenient, reliable, and cost-effective, providing peace of mind that your water filtration system is working optimally. Plus, our backup service ensures you're prepared for any emergency.

What areas does Solvd service?

Solvd currently operates in the greater Johannesburg area, having taken the decision to service a more focused area to ensure we are able to provide our customers with the best level of service and execution possible.

What types of water filters does Solvd provide?

Our filtration systems are “whole home” meaning they are installed at the main water supply point to your home, ensuring all of the water you are using in the home is clean and safe to drink.

Our standard filter is a double stage filter, with the two stages being sediment and carbon.

We offer the option to upgrade to a three stage filter, with the third stage being UV filtration. UV filtration acts as a disinfectant and kills microorganisms in the water.

When is it advisable to include UV to your filtration system?

It is standard practice in most municipalities to add chlorine to the municipal drinking water which kills microorganisms. It is recommended to add UV to your home filtration system if it is likely that chlorine is not being added to the municipal water due to failing infrastructure or mismanagement, or if the area where you are consuming your water does not have the facilities available to add chlorine to the municipal water.

How often will I receive filter replacements?

It is recommended that sediment and carbon cartridges are replaced every 6 to 8 months. Solvd will replace these for you every 6 months with no callout or replacement fees as part of our service. Solvd will track and manage this maintenance schedule on your behalf. UV bulbs are replaced once a year, or every second maintenance visit.

What is the backup water service?

Our backup water service ensures that you always have a water reserve in case of emergencies or disruptions to your water supply. Our backup water service comes standard with a 2000L tank, with the option to add additional tanks based on your needs.

Why do I need a water backup subscription?

With a failing water delivery infrastructure, as well as continued climate change, having a backup water supply on hand gives you peace of mind that your family will have access to a water reserve for your home.

How much backup water do I need?

The amount of backup water needed depends on the size of your household. A standard recommendation is at least 200 litres of water per person per day for at least 3 days. Solvd can help you determine the right amount of backup water based on your family’s size and needs.

Will I have water if there is a power outage?

If there is a power outage that means the pump inside the tank cannot pump the water out the tank and into your house, because it requires electricity, BUT all that needs to happen if you require water is that you switch over to the municipal supply which will feed your house with water. We will show you on site how to do this.

What happens if I move?

When you move home, we would need to cancel your subscription and re-engage with you on a new subscription for your new home.

To help ease this transition, if you are able to on-sell the subscription at your current home to the new owners to take it over, Solvd will offer you your first 3 months free when you sign up at your new home.

How does payment for my Solvd subscription work?

Subscription fees are charged on a recurring monthly basis at the beginning of each billing cycle, with a fixed 5% annual escalation applied on the anniversary of the subscription.

Can I upgrade my system?

If something happens to any of my equipment, how will repairs occur?

This includes any call-out fees or costs associated with restoring the equipment to working order and ensuring it performs according to specifications.

Can I ever buy or fully own my Solvd system?
